Making a Bequest to Cranford Hospice
Why Cranford Hospice needs your support.
Every year, Cranford Hospice provides care and support to over 750 Hawke’s Bay patients and their families as they travel on one of life’s toughest journeys. Whether they live at home, in a rest home or are having a short stay in our eight-bed inpatient facility, Cranford is with them all the way, providing practical, emotional and spiritual support so that patients can live every moment of the time they have left.
We could not provide patients with free care without the ongoing support of our community.
The benefits of a Will
Your Will is a unique and clear record of your wishes. No matter what your financial situation, making a legal Will enables you to continue to provide for those who depend on you today. It also allows you to support the people in your community and the charities you care about beyond your lifetime. Even a modest amount or a small percentage of an estate makes a difference.
How do I make a Will?
If you have not yet made your Will, the good news is that this is usually a very simple, inexpensive process. The benefits are enormous, and it can also be a relief for you.
Your Will is a living document that continues beyond your lifetime. Because it is a legal document, it is important to seek the right advice and wording. Your lawyer, the Public Trust, Guardian Trust, or a Trustee Company will be able to explain the various ways in which this can be done.
If you do choose to leave a bequest to Cranford Hospice, these are some options and suggested wording:
“I give to Cranford Hospice, a service of Presbyterian Support East Coast, the sum of $....... (*) for the general purposes of the hospice, for which the receipt of the Chief Executive or other proper officer shall be full and sufficient discharge to my trustees.”
(*) or: … % of my estate
or: the residue of my estate
or: ... (Description of asset or property)
Reviewing your Will
Advisors recommend you review your Will every five years or so in case your circumstances and intentions change. This is an ideal time to add an amendment or addition (a Codicil) to incorporate a bequest to Cranford Hospice.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to those who decide to contribute to future generations through a gift in their Will to Cranford Hospice.
