We want to evolve the Dove model of care and make it available to other communities.
We will achieve this by supporting and empowering people with life threatening illness by generating sufficient funds through community partnerships.
We stand for Hope which is about empowerment, promoting holistic wellness, being attentive and supportive, generous and in the moment. We stand for Compassion which is about understanding, being respectful and authentic, caring, tolerant and hospitable. We stand for Integrity. We seek to be honest, truthful, trustworthy and transparent and everything we do is held in confidence. We stand for Excellence, in the quality of our standards and our tenacity, upskilling, promoting safety and reliability, being professional and accountable.
Dove Hospice was established as an independent charitable trust. Our Board of Trustees comprises nine men and women who provide governance for Dove Hospice on behalf of the communities we serve, offering their experience, expertise and wisdom to the Hospice on a voluntary basis.
Dove Hospice does not receive any direct government funding; we rely on the generosity of our community.
We welcome and appreciate donations and bequests to ensure the continuation of an exceptional community service.

The Dove model of care means caring for people from the moment they are diagnosed with a life threatening illness through to end of life or into wellness. Unlike other hospices we support people who have a terminal prognosis and those who expect full recovery, ‘bridging the gap’ between diagnosis and end of life, or diagnosis and wellness. The ‘gap’ between can be months, even years, when the effects of illness and treatment are life changing. Currently there is no other service doing this.
