In 1961, God gave our founder Richard Berry clear direction to establish Christian radio in New Zealand.
Supported by the three verses God gave to Richard (Matthew 7:7; Matthew 19:26 and John 14:12), it took eighteen years of struggling to get Christian radio on air. The breakthrough came when the Broadcasting Tribunal of New Zealand granted Radio Rhema a permanent broadcasting licence to come on air on the 11th November 1978.
Through supporters like you, God has provided the increase for Rhema Media to become what it is today. No longer only one station operating for six hours a day, Rhema Media now has three radio networks (Rhema, Star and Life fm) and one television station (Shine), all broadcasting 24 hours a day, plus The Word For Today and Word For You Today daily devotionals (150,000 copies printed quarterly).
The effectiveness of Rhema Media’s ministry is shown in the feedback we receive. Letters describe how God has used Rhema Media to minister healing in people’s lives and bring them into a new or closer relationship with Himself.
By choosing to leave a gift to Rhema Media, you are leaving a legacy of hope - a hope that will continue ministering to this nation long after you have gone.

"Yesterday I was driving home stuck in traffic and heard a lady on your show talking about suicide and how someone was so thankful to have your radio station to listen to. Lately I've been thinking about wanting to end my life but thanks to hearing words and great songs on your shows I've prayed more and thanked God more for my life. If not for your radio station and God's love for me I wouldn't be living. I want to thank you for having Rhema to look up to and start a new day with uplifting songs and words. May God be with this station for a very long time and help others who are hurting and looking for that uplifting word."
A Rhema listener.
