Bible Society’s mission is to help make the Bible accessible to everyone and encourage interaction with it.

Bible Society was founded in 1804 by a small group of Christians in England and Wales who believed the Bible should be shared with the world. More than two hundred years later their legacy lives on – millions of lives have been transformed by the Bible’s message. But there is still much to do to bring the Bible to those who wait, and to ensure its wisdom, inspiration and revelation are not lost to future generations around the world.

Our hope is that through the Bible, people of all ages will encounter God and build a life-long relationship with him. We do this by providing Bibles to people in their heart language, in a format that suits them, and at a price they can afford.  We not only translate, produce and distribute the Bible, but also encourage people to interact with it through innovative Bible engagement resources.
