For Solicitors & Will Writers
Help your clients fulfill something very special and rewarding.
People who elect to leave a bequest to one or more charities feel great satisfaction in having left a lasting legacy of enduring value. Many bequestors report it to be very rewarding. Yet, currently less than eight percent of wills make provision for a bequest to any charity.
As a lawyer, or will writer, your role in the process is key. See further details in a recent article from the New Zealand Law Society at the link here, and here (see also recent report findings from the UK here).
Include A Charity represents a growing group of committed charities whose aim it is to increase this type of philanthropy in New Zealand. A growth in bequesting also means that more people will be asking for legal advice.
By working together, we can increase the number and amount of bequests left for the benefit of all New Zealand charities, their beneficiaries and our communities.
Join us in spreading the word and encourage your clients to consider making a bequest. That way you can help your clients feel good about what they can leave when they’re gone.
Click here to find an Include A Charity Member. This list provides the correct charity name, registered charity number and branch name (if applicable) for recording in the client's will.
You can also be sent a free Will Information Pack (see right) or, through the form below, order leaflets to give to your clients. This website, the Will Information Pack and the leaflets all explain in plain English how to leave a gift to a charity in a will.
The leaflet for your clients can be downloaded here.
Thank you for your interest and support of the Include A Charity campaign, which can do so much good for charities and causes in New Zealand.
