The Northland Emergency Services Trust (aka the Northland Rescue Helicopter) is a charitable trust established to provide a dedicated emergency rescue helicopter service for the people of Northland. The Trust is supported by the generous contributions made by local sponsors, individuals, families, businesses and organisations. A Board of Trustees governs The Northland Emergency Services Trust and oversees its strategic direction and management. All our trustees are Northlanders. We know about Northland’s unsealed roads, our changeable weather and the fact that our people live over a wide-spread area that’s often difficult to access quickly by road. We’re also aware of the increased risk of death and serious injury caused when medical treatment is delayed – all of which makes Northland’s Rescue Helicopter service so essential.
Gift a lasting legacy
One very personal way to help us is by making a bequest. Your bequest will ensure Northland Emergency Services Trust can operate long into the future and remain the best equipped rescue helicopter service in the country.
The northland rescue helicopter matters to the community.
It’s no secret that people in Northland live over a wide-spread area that’s often difficult to access quickly by road – our air ambulance service is often the only solution when an emergency strikes.
Our Sikorsky S76 helicopters have the capability to travel further than any other service in New Zealand on a single tank of fuel, and transport paramedics to the emergency scene in record time.
Each and every day our team carry out land and sea search and rescue operations – and we are only getting busier.
When medical treatment is delayed, there is an increased risk of death and serious injury – all of which makes our helicopter rescue service so essential.
Needless to say, the aircraft are expensive to maintain and operate. Part of our costs are met by user charges such as ACC, however public donations and bequests are our most valuable and appreciated source of funding.
