Established in 1919, PS Southland employs over 450 staff, mainly providing residential services for older people and a Supportlink service involving volunteers who help older folk living in their own homes. PS Southland also operates Family Works services across Southland, which covers a broad range of services for children, young people and their families. Annual cost of services for older people is around $16 million, and $3m for Family Works. Most of our $18.5 million income comes from residential care charges and government service contracts, however we still need to raise around $1.1 million from bequests, donations and trust funders.
