Who We Are
The Medical Research Institute of New Zealand is an independent medical research organisation. Our scientists are dedicated to investigating the causes of important public health problems in New Zealand and internationally, to use this knowledge to improve the prevention and treatment of diseases, and to provide a base for specialist training in medical research. Our particular focus is on research which has the potential to lead to improvements in clinical management.
Recent research programmes:
Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Rehabilitation and Stroke
Please consider supporting medical research by leaving the Institute a gift in your Will.
The finance support we receive from throughout New Zealand and overseas is greatly valued. All gifts in Wills, whatever the size, mean a great deal to us and have a positive impact. Like no other gift, they support our mission to find the answers to diseases. We would very much like you to be a part of achieving our goal. You can help us shape advances in medical science and develop treatments that may one day benefit future generations of your family, friends and community. If you have any queries regarding support of our medical research, or would like to discuss a specific purpose to which you would like to contribute, please contact us.
